What is Acesulfame Potassium or Ace-K?

Acesulfame Potassium is an artificial sweetener that’s 200 times sweeter than table sugar. Ace-K has no calories and is hence used in sugar free products to provide the sweetness with zero added calories. It is an often used combination of other sweeteners that are either low-calorie or no-calorie such as aspartame and sucralose to give a more sugar-like taste. An acceptable amount of this ingredient would be 0-9 milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day as recommended by the EFSA.
